QA Engineer focused on Connected devices
- Contract position
- Northern New Jersey, 3 days a week in-office

RedStream Technology is searching for a Connected Devices Quality Assurance Engineer to join an exciting effort within the sports and entertainment arena. The ideal candidate for this position will be primed to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, agile environment. They will have the opportunity to contribute to standards for the way work is done within the company’s digital products organization and play a critical role in achieving an organization-wide digital transformation. Keen attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a solid knowledge base are essential.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing quality specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Crafting detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Partner with Development and Product teams to deliver quality products on time
  • Perform manual testing for multiple digital products and devices
  • Work closely with developers to write test cases for new and existing features
  • Create documentation for testing procedures for applications and related processes
  • Proactive communication regarding test status, progress, risks, dependencies
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
  • QA of all releases and work with engineers to resolve bugs
  • Release management and documentation/communication of what is being released
  • Grow technically and professionally in a collaborative and inclusive environment with opportunities to learn and share with others

Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years previous experience in development and operations, or related IT, computer, or operations field
  • Experience testing Android TV and/or Fire TV
  • Experience testing connected devices (ex.: tvOS, Roku, etc.)
  • Experience testing mobile apps (Native iOS & Android)
  • Minimum 3 years previous experience with a combination of manual / automated testing techniques
  • Minimum 1 years previous experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium
  • Minimum 1 years previous experience with CI/CD pipelines such Jenkins
  • Experience working with VR headsets Vision Pro, Oculus, Meta Quest, Stream VR
  • Experience in developing scripts to automate and simplify tasks
  • Knowledge of basic SQL
  • Experience with Scrum/Kanban/SAFe, Agile workflow methodologies
  • Familiarity with distributed version control systems such as Bitbucket and/or Github
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira
  • Up-to-date on the latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Educational Background Required: BS in computer science, electrical engineering or a related technical field.
