Food Scientist

  • Hybrid / Onsite in Midtown Atlanta

RedStream Technology is recruiting for a Food Scientist to work with a team evaluating and recommending food and beverage growth and sustainability opportunities. You will work with teams to guide the creation of knowledge as well as driving productivity and innovation across the industry.

Quintessential analyses include researching and mapping the production processes for food / beverage products, conducting teardowns and specific lab tests on food / beverage products, identifying ingredient / formulation substitution, and preparing comparisons for features / attributes. Researching machinery, ingredient specifications, input commodity indices, and costs for product cost modeling and design evaluation are also key in day-to-day work.

Skills and Experience:

  • Certified Research Chef, Certified Culinary Scientist, and Certified Food Scientist qualifications also considered
  • Previous product development or food science experience
  • Familiarity with culinary concepts, ingredients and preparation/manufacturing techniques for food and beverage
  • Expertise in lab measurement and testing techniques, scientific method and report preparation
  • Good communicator, capable of working in multinational environments, self-motivated
  • Ability to create impact individually or as a collaborative member of a team, capable of working well with others but also autonomously with little direction
  • Capacity to start a project, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively in the face of ambiguity
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented individual, producing reports with a high level of accuracy for senior audiences
  • Excellent presentation skills with a focus on communicating complex ideas clearly
  • Creative and strategic thinker with the ability to analyze and synthesize data

Education:        

  • Undergraduate degree requirement– Bachelor’s in Food Science, Food Technology, or related
  • Strong record of academic performance (top 10% GPA, Dean’s List, etc.); Minimum GPA = 3.0
