Software Analytics Quality Assurance Specialist

Remote, East Coast Hours

RedStream Technology is recruiting a Software Analytics Quality Assurance Specialist to work with our media and entertainment client.

Responsibilities

Product Analytics Quality Assurance

  • Conduct thorough testing of web analytics implementations to ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
  • Utilize developer tools to monitor and analyze network calls, ensuring they align with expected analytics events and parameters.

Test Case Design and Execution:

  • Develop comprehensive test cases based on functional requirements and user stories using TestRail.
  • Execute manual test cases across various web and mobile platforms, meticulously documenting test results and defects within TestRail.
  • Manage test suites and test runs within TestRail to organize testing efforts and track progress.

 

Defect Management

  • Accurately identify and report software defects in a detailed manner using TestRail's bug tracking capabilities
  • Collaborate with developers to effectively communicate issues and track bug resolution status.

 

Test Planning and Reporting:

  • Contribute to the creation of test plans and strategies, including test coverage analysis.
  • Generate detailed test reports summarizing testing results, defect trends, and overall quality metrics within TestRail

 

Other Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing quality specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Crafting detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Partner with Development and Product teams to deliver quality products on time
  • Perform manual testing for multiple digital products and devices
  • Work closely with developers to write test cases for new and existing features
  • Create documentation for testing procedures for applications and related processes
  • Proactive communication regarding test status, progress, risks, dependencies
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
  • QA of all releases and work with engineers to resolve bugs
  • Grow technically and professionally in a collaborative and inclusive environment with opportunities to learn and share with others

 

Required Skills/Knowledge

Technical Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years previous experience in development and operations, or related IT, computer, or operations field
  • Minimum 2 years previous experience with a combination of manual / automated testing techniques
  • Experience testing mobile apps (Native iOS & Android) and Connected devices (ex.: tvOS, Roku, etc)
  • Proficient in using TestRail for test case management, execution, and defect tracking.
  • Basic understanding of programming languages (e.g., JavaScript) for potential automation testing
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies (Scrum, Agile, Waterfall).
  • Experience in developing scripts to automate and simplify tasks
  • Knowledge of basic SQL
  • Familiarity with QA tools like Charles Proxy, Wireshark, Postman, Testrail
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira

 

Testing Skills:

  • Utilize developer tools to monitor and analyze network calls, ensuring they align with expected analytics events and parameters.
  • Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Tester, with a focus on web analytics testing.
  • Strong understanding of web technologies and experience using developer tools to inspect network calls.
  • Familiarity with analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, Amplitude Analytics, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and isolate software defects.
  • Expertise in various testing techniques (functional, regression, usability, performance).
  • Ability to create effective test cases with clear and concise steps.
  • Up to date on the latest industry trends, tools and practices
