RedStream Technology is seeking an Assistant Managing Editor to join the publishing and communications team of a global management consulting firm. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team publishing cutting-edge business content in various formats, including white papers, articles, video and podcast interviews, interactive takeovers, and more.
As the Assistant Managing Editor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day production of content across digital and print channels. Using your passion for creating engaging and captivating content, you will help to ensure that production runs smoothly and efficiently. With your experience and enthusiasm, you will become a vital member of the team and help to take their content to the next level.
Responsibilities:
In the role of Assistant Managing Editor, you’ll be part of the Global Publishing production team. You will fact check a robust pipeline of articles, exhibits, interviews, podcasts, blog posts, and reports daily. Your other production responsibilities will include:
- Supporting web production staff by laying out content in an online article template (which includes text, images, accessibility features, and other assets).
- Implementing best-practice production processes by connecting with editorial, production, and design teams, mostly through the content management system, to agree on timelines and to maintain the editorial calendar.
- Working with editors and practice constituents to ensure web/app pages are clear, usable, and conform with publishing best practices (eg, taxonomy tagging, inline linking, accessibility, SEO).
- Managing the assets that enter the production process, tracking their progress from author team approvals to copy editing, exhibit design, art direction and layout, proofreading, and final sign-off.
- Working with external agencies (eg, vendors that provide external editorial, production, and data-visualization support) as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 4–6 years of editorial experience (experience with medical publishing a plus)
- You love fact finding, digging into details, research, and hunting down excellent, trusted sources
- Experience working with a CMS (familiarity with Sitecore and/or Airtable a plus)
- High attention to detail
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Crisp written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Effective problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess situations and evaluate options
- Comfort working in a low-structure, nonhierarchical environment
