Systems Engineer - Infrastructure Monitoring

The Systems Engineer - Infrastructure Monitoring will be an integral part of the Software & Service Implementation team. This team works within a high-performance culture to deploy and support mission-critical communication systems. The role involves planning, integration, and automation of monitoring solutions for network operations centers (NOCs) and data center infrastructures.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Collaborate with customers and vendors to integrate monitoring systems into NOCs.
- Develop event handling rules for data center infrastructure.
- Automate event handling using various monitoring tools (e.g., Sciencelogic, Bladelogic, Elastic).
- Create application-specific performance monitoring solutions.
- Act as the technical expert for private cloud solutions deployed within customer data centers.
- Provide technical expertise for resolving complex problems, including in-depth analysis.
- Define, specify, and recommend test tools and scripts for integration and testing.
- Provide Estimates of Effort for all integration engineering activities.
- Operate within an ITIL framework and strive to exceed customer expectations.

**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, data center engineering, or designing, building, and maintaining large-scale private cloud environments.
- Detailed knowledge of network management protocols (SNMPv3, ICMP, NetFlow).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools and platforms (e.g., Nagios, Elastic, Science Logic, BMC Bladelogic).
- Working knowledge of VMware, Windows, Linux, and container solutions (e.g., VCD, NSX-t, ProxMox).
- Experience supporting complex end-to-end network solutions in a mission-critical environment.
- Knowledge of communication protocols, client-server architectures, computer networking technologies, network security solutions, and software integration.
- Strong problem-solving skills, analytical abilities, and ability to deliver high performance.

**Preferred Skills (Extra Points):**
- Experience automating tests using Robot Framework.
- Experience with hardware from HPe, Cisco, Nimble, Metaswitch, Aruba, Arbor, and Netscout.
- Experience deploying or operating 911 infrastructure.
- Knowledge of RESTful API.
- Familiarity with the definition of idempotent.
