Summary:
The Network Engineer provides technical direction and guidance to internal departments and personnel on complex installations, equipment issues, and network design. This role involves assessing network requirements, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring successful implementations of new products and solutions.
Responsibilities:
**Implementation Projects:**
- Assess network requirements and Services impact for large projects
- Assist in evaluating proposed network designs to address potential issues.
- Provide support to Customers, Channel Partners, and implementation teams.
- Perform Cisco router/switch configurations and troubleshoot complex network issues.
- Collaborate with System Engineering and Product Development to resolve issues.
- Document all network changes during project implementation.
**Quality and Process Improvement:**
- Assess tools required for successful implementations and prepare business cases.
- Implement processes associated with new tool introductions.
- Assess installation methodologies, research best practices, and propose improvements.
- Serve as a key resource for developing and maintaining documented field processes.
- Design complex site-specific Method of Procedures as required.
**Skills and Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in designing, configuring, and maintaining large IP networks.
- Extensive knowledge in IP Networking, Ethernet LAN, dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), MPLS services, LAN/WAN QoS, firewalls, high availability, and redundancy.
- Hands-on experience supporting VOIP systems and telecommunications protocols.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or higher.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organization, presentation, and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
